The CLEO broadband network is managed and supported by BT Lancashire Services, a wholly owned part of BT, on behalf Lancashire County Council. The private schools network connects over 750 schools across Cumbria and Lancashire and interconnects with the JANET (UK) universities network at Carlisle and Manchester. BT is contracted until 2021 to provide a range of services to Lancashire County Council. Staff seconded from Lancashire County Council to BT Lancashire Services are responsible for supporting schools using the CLEO network.
Each RBC is formed from a group of Local Authorities (LAs) who work together with the aim of achieving better provision, value for money and performance for schools than could be achieved individually. The Local Authorities within E2BN’s region Central Bedfordshire, Bedford Borough, Cambridgeshire, Essex, Hertfordshire, Luton, Milton Keynes, Norfolk, Peterborough, Southend On Sea, Suffolk and Thurrock.
E2BN seeks to raise educational standards across the whole community by providing effective broadband services throughout the East of England. Harnessing the full potential of ICT and broadband connectivity, and drawing on good practice and collective expertise, we will continue to develop, share and deliver high quality educational opportunities and contribute to community and economic development in our region.
